Gorgeous Halloween 2012

We kicked off our Halloween celebrations on Monday night with pumpkin carving and the best rice crispy treats.  I was solo  with the girls Sunday night and Monday and Tuesday (Daryl was at away at a conference) so it was quit the task to carve pumpkins with a 6 year old and an almost 2 year old.  I just wanted it to be fun since Dad wasn't able to join us.  Paiglee gave it a good go at carving some of the pumpkins.  Her hand got tired after well not too long.  I ended up carving about 2 and half pumpkins by myself.  But they turned out great and Paiglee chose who put what picture on each pumpkin.  We had an angry bird and just a regular jack o'lantern face and then a bat.  Between giving the girls baths and getting them ready for bed and trying to finish the pumpkins to get a picture with the  finished product and the girls, I was tired at the end of the evening.

Wednesday I had another busy day Emery and I picked up a Burger King happy meal for Paiglee.  Monday she came home from school asking for me to bring her one on Halloween and I didn't know what she wanted Burger King, until I had the meal in my hand.  It was Super Mario Brothers and Paiglee loves them.  I chuckled, how did she know!  I was going to eat with her but I was so busy running errands that I just dripped it off and said Hi.  Then later that afternoon Emery and I had to go to Paiglee's class Halloween party.  It was too many people in a small area for me I was ready to scream by the end, I put on my best fake face for Paiglee though.  Paiglee's new glasses were in so before heading home we picked them up.  We decided to go with transition glasses this time because we always forgot her sunglass attachments for her old glasses, I am not usually a fan of transitions, but she loves them and that is what matters.  hopefully she won't be blinded by the sun as much anymore.  After that we had to come home and get everyone ready for the Trunk or Treat.

When Paiglee told me she wanted to be Princess Peach for Halloween I told her we would do make-up.  She was excited and I had fun dolling her up.  I put fake eyelashes on (even though she didn't need them, I didn't realize how long her lashes are until we put mascara on them) lipstick and fun eyeshadow like princess peach.  Emery was a spider again this year, her costume fit her even better this year and she loved wearing it.  Before Halloween was here she was wearing it around the house.  I put a little web with a spider on her face as well, I just like face painting for Halloween I think it completes it.

Can I just say the weather this year was so gorgeous.  You didn't even need a jacket maybe a light sweater but it was amazing.  We did the trunk or treat, then headed to the fire departments to get king size candy bars.  Then we got a small bite to eat at Sonic since they had fifty cent corn dogs.  Then we headed to a friend of ours neighbor hood and did our trick or treating there this year.  It is right next to the neighbor hood we normally go to.  Emery would do a few houses then get back on her trike.  She did great, and even said "tank too" after getting candy.  It was pretty cute, she was by far the cutest spider.  Paiglee had so much fun trick or treating once we met up with her friends.  Then she kept running ahead, she loved it.  Because of the nice weather we ended up staying out longer than we wanted to.  Paiglee's teacher told Daryl that we could stop by her house, so as we headed home that way we stopped.  Then finally at 8pm we had dinner, we never have dinner that late in our house I usually have it ready by five or five thirty.  The girls were exhausted and we still had to do baths.  we went through the candy and took out all the junk and then thinned it out so we didn't have too much, then Daryl took the rest to work.  Paiglee didn't get to bed until almost ten.  I had to wake her for school today.  She also had picture retakes today so I had to get her looking picture ready.

The angry bird turned out great but it only lasted a night which was a bummer it wilted the next day

The picture below cracks me up Paiglee kept her hand on her heart for seriously dozens of pictures and I didn't notice until this morning when I was going through them.

She was squating down and this is what her sucker did to her

Daryl going through our loot, we ended up having some trick or treaters once home we handed out handfuls of it.

Happy to be home and finally eating dinner

Paiglee loved her make-up on, it was fun for me to put it on her, when I took off her fake lashes, she looked in the mirror and said while shrugging her shoulders, "uh I still look pretty"  it made me giggle.

We did have a great Halloween and most of all the weather made it for the adults I think.
