Hair Be Gone

So a few weekends ago we headed to Laramie because Paiglee and I had hair appointments with the amazing man that does my hair, also for Paiglee's yearly check up with her doctor there.  I hadn't been to him in over a year because I was trying to find someone else but that is near impossible in this state.  Also I wanted to do a bob to Paiglee's hair it was just getting to be too much she hated brushing it and I hated fighting her over it.  So I thought I would have it short so she can get use to doing it on her own as it grows out again.

I was sad to be cutting her hair, I love it long.  Paiglee was torn she wanted to get it cut but then there were times she said she didn't want to.  The day before she said she didn't want to.  But I told her there wasn't much of an option because it was getting too long for her to help me care for it.  I knew I was going to miss doing all the pretty braids and fun stuff to her hair.  I mean she has GORGEOUS hair.  I also didn't trust anyone else to cut her hair so short because everywhere we went to get trims they didn't do a good job.  In one of the pictures you can tell her cut from a previous cut was cricked.

At the appointment Mike asked how we wanted it cut I said a bob above the shoulders.  He thought it would be fine until he ran his finger through her hair, and realized it is super thick and tons there.  He suggested keeping it just below the shoulders and giving it movement.  I said great, cause I trust him anyones hair.  It was crazy to see all her hair falling to the floor.  He told me some products I should be using on her hair to help make it more manageable.  He couldn't believe how much hair she has as well.  I mean she has double the hair of a full grown adult if not more, no joking or exaggerating.  As he was blowing her hair out and styling it I loved it.  I had my heart set on a bob for her but this cut works great.  Also the reason he said a bob wouldn't work for her is because she has too much hair and when it drys it kind of puff out so her hair gets bigger as it drys so with it short she would just have a big puffy head of hair.

At the end I took a picture of all the hair that came off of her head.  It was a mound of hair enough for someone else to have a full head of hair.

It is nicer to brush out less knots and tangles and she can wear it down without having anything done to it.  The only down fall every time I wash her hair I have to blow it out and round brush it which is work.  But we don't wash her hair everyday so it ins't a daily thing which is nice.  She has some natural curl to her hair but it isn't the pretty kind when it air drys it will look funky in areas cause of the curl in her hair.  But we love it and she is getting use to it.  She has told me once she hates her short hair but she was also in a horrible mood and just annoyed with life.  So I won't count that one.  She seems to like it other than that one time.  But she does ask for things to be done to her hair  that we can't really do with it this short.  I did tell her nice thing is it grows back.  If anything I am enjoying not fighting with her over it and how much easier it is to wash.
