Gingerbread House

Last night we decided to build our gingerbread house that I got. I didn't know if Paiglee would totally get the idea, and I thought she might just want to eat the candy. But once we started to put the frosting on the house and she saw us stick stuff on it, she took it and ran with it. I had her decorate the gingerbread people and tree and she did a great job. She really enjoyed it and just so she had some candy to eat while building it we gave her some peanut M&M's. We kind of didn't read the instructions before we started, well I must say I was then Daryl jumped in and just began. After we began to put on the candy and our little house was caving under the weight of all the candy we realized we should have waited for the house to sit so it would hold better, Ops. But we got pictures of it and Paiglee enjoyed doing it, so that is all that matters. The fact that it is on top of my fridge in a heaping mess doesn't matter. I guess we know for next time but I think next time I might do graham crackers and frosting and buy my own candy cause well everything in this kit was hard and nasty and while it was fun to build, I can do it for cheaper than 9$ and it will be eatable afterwards.

We have just been relaxing enjoying time together. We have been having fun with friends and family. I am just excited that we get to start some of our own traditions that we have wanted to do. I am excited just for the season. I look forward to a relaxing evening and yummy nachos and watching the Nativity. Daryl is already excited for tomorrow (this is rare), to watch Paiglee open her gifts. I know she doesn't fully understand what this time of year means or why there are gifts under a tree in our house, but just to think this is the start of her child hood memories and our family traditions makes it fun. To think that these traditions we are starting will be probably some of her fondest memories is so fun to think about and to begin. I am so ready to have the camera rolling and to catch her excitement, since she really didn't get anything last year.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!
