Today was a good day. I mentioned before that the Teacher Fair was today and Monday. Well I guess Monday you just go to sign up for times to interview with people from school districts. Well Daryl was there pretty early and was ready to sprint to the table for Cheyenne. We were very lucky to get the very first interview for the day and then he also got three more one for Rock Springs (meth capital of Wyoming, blaaah!), Greeley (wouldn't be too bad), and Vail (never thought about that place). I do just have to say though, anyone who really knows Daryl knows he is good with words and the way he words things he is just a people person. I am never worried about him interviewing, getting an interview is the hard part not because he is lacking just because it is. He has an amazing talent of speaking. He is very savvy and well spoken, I also feel when it comes to serious matters he is very insightful and just knows the right answer for everything. That is where I for sure see our age difference. But anyway....I guess the guy from Cheyenne who was suppose to interview him wasn't able to make it to Laramie in time due to the lovely weather, so some district guy interviewed Daryl along with four other people luckily no one else was a counselor but still what a crap shoot. So he wasn't sure how that went since one guy was asking five people questions in a 30 minute time period about teaching nothing to do with counseling ( I don't see how you can make a good judgment of each individual). I was a little upset about that one cause the guy who was suppose to interview was going to be there for the interviews later in the day, so much for being timely and on the ball.
Daryl said that the lady from Greely loved him; she said he would be a great asset to their district and she strongly encouraged him to put in an application. Daryl said the Vail person was a little odd (go figures) he actually said to Daryl "you know there is a large extreme between the rich and the poor". What, there are poor people such a thing exists?!!!! ;) Well he must have not looked at the pay scale they offer because no one can get rich on a teacher’s salary even in the best of circumstances. I can't believe it; people like that give the rich people the name snooty. The man obviously didn't realize he was on a campus where thousands of students have gone in the hole thousands of dollars. What did he expect to find on a campus? The large majority of people graduating are not rich and probably never will be. But I guess we still haven't learned our lesson because now we are applying to Jackson Hole of all places. We figure we might get a few more visitors than if we were to just move to the unknown. ;) Also Rock Springs wasn't able to make it because with the bad weather, I-80 west has been closed for days now it seems. And Jackson Hole also wasn't able to make it due to weather. So all we know now is that Greeley really likes Daryl, but... of course there is a catch. The lady that Interviewed Daryl has really no power to hire him she just can say who she liked if they ask, it is mostly up to the principal of the school who needs to fill the position.
We know a little, but nothing about Cheyenne the one place we are shooting for. But the one thing that gives me comfort and lets me know we aren't counted out yet. I guess the interviews conducted today don't really help you get the job or not get the job it is just a way for name recognition. So when they start to go through all the applications maybe, just maybe, they might remember DARYL MICHAEL and what an awesome person he is. And let’s not forget you have to be seriously on your rocker to not hire the man he is a GENIUS when it comes to dealing with kids and let me say it, because I don't care, in a field where there are some people who just shouldn't deal with kids or even be a teacher (don’t think I am harsh, people in the education department who really know what is going on will tell you) he is the diamond in the rough. I really couldn't say enough great things about Daryl especially when it comes to being a counselor and a teacher. I don't just say this because he is my husband either because I am not afraid to be mean if he sucked he would most likely know about it. I have never really seen him in action but the other teachers and principals rave about him to me whenever they see me. Plus you know when someone is good with kids especially when they chase him down in the store just to say hi. Or Scream at him through his open car window as we drive by them walking just to tease one another. He is amazing I really can't tell you. Today I specifically remember a little girl running up to Daryl and saying hi Mr. Michael she was a kindergartner. We get that a lot, when we go jogging during soccer season at the park it never fails to have a bunch of kids yelling hey Mr. Michael. Plus since he substitute teaches he is able to meet a ton of kids and for him to make a huge impression on them just from one time of teaching them, has to tell you something. I can remember in Elementary school or even Jr. High having a teacher that you just loved and even to this day you still remember or that when you saw them you loved to say hi to them. He is that teacher or counselor, either way he is that man. He has the ability to break even the most stubborn or misbehaving kid. Kids just have a respect for him but are still able to have fun and joke with him. He just has one of those gifts that leave you staring at the person in amazement. The schools need more people like him in them especially with so many trials facing youth at an even younger age now a days. I am so proud of him and it makes me feel good to see him have so much success with something he loves to do.
I thought I would attach some pictures of Paiglee over the days also. We have her eye appointment tomorrow so you can be sure I will be writing about that here soon. Today I got Paiglee's Teva sandals in the mail. Now, I know what some may be thinking, those are expensive but let me explain. Before Paiglee could walk we found some tiny Teva sandals for her for only 3.50$ yeah I know. She wore them all last summer pretty much and loved them they didn't give her blisters cause some shoes for little ones do such horrible things. Well I told Daryl we had to find more. I kept looking at Once upon A Child no such luck. So I talked Daryl into letting me get her these since they would be her only summer shoes other than tennis shoes. Plus I bought them plenty big so she can't grow out of them before the end of the summer (knock on wood). I found these ones I really liked and they aren't that much more than her tennis shoes we bought her. Plus I strongly recommend Teva sandals for kids they are great and they are comfortable. We gave Paiglee OREO's for the first time yesterday and took some pictures of that too they are a little blurry cause the camera was on the wrong setting but you can still see her sheer enjoyment.
Eating peanut butter and jelly
so sleepy after such a big lunch
Daryl and I always go in to check on Paiglee and sometimes we can't resist to take a picture
Yummy OREO's!!!!
She even pulls them apart! How funny is that!
She is already for summer now it just needs to get warm

Very cute pictures. I can't wait to hear more about the interviews...how exciting! The only thing is, you will have to leave Paiglee here...and you. Daryl can go, I guess. :-) Just kidding! We'll just have to visit one another lots wherever you end up!
