Everythings Great

Today was Paiglee's 18 month check-up and it went good. I finally got to see the new building that they moved into. It was very nice, much better than where they use to be. We didn't even wait long, to go in and we didn't wait long in the room for Dr. Horst. I think she knew what was going on because when I laid her down to get undressed she freaked. Then when I tried to put her on the scale to get weighed she clung onto my arm for life she didn't want to be set down on the scale. She has never done that before but it was kind of funny because she was hanging on my arm like a monkey. Her measurements are; Height:: 32 in about 60% , Weight: 23 lbs 2 oz in about the 30-35%, Head: 48.2 cm in the 90% (yes I know she has a big head always has but you can't tell, it has to be because of all the hair). She is growing just fine and has moved up in the percentages in weight and heights but head has stayed in the 90 area. They aren't worried that she doesn't drink milk at all. since she is growing just fine. She does est cheese and yogurt and calcium fortified OJ. So I think she is fine. They have been wanting her to take a multi-vitamin but she won't not even the gummies I have tried. She is picky picky. She almost has her full set of teeth until 2 year molars. Her bottom eye teeth are about to pop through the gums, and Horst said her top eye teeth should follow shortly. I know the bottoms were coming but the top I didn't cause Paiglee won't let me look in her mouth and force with her doesn't work, so I only see the bottom when she smiles and I see the top ones when they pretty much pop through. But Horst said maybe in a month she will be done with the teething until 2 year molars. Then I will be weaning from the Binky. Paiglee got her fourth DTaP and her first Hep A shots ( this is was her first Hep A shot because at her 1 year they ran out) and of course the whole time she knew it was going to happen after Horst left she kept grabbing her legs, then when the two nurses came back in and I laid her on the table she flipped. They couldn't believe how strong she was one nurse couldn't put the band-aid on because Paiglee was trying to kick. So when she is 2 she will get her last Hep A shot and that will be it for five years. Yay! Maybe in the five years she will forget about the shots and not be so irritable for Dr. apts.

Dr. Horst thought she was pretty funny, she wanted to play with the stethoscope after Host listened to her lungs and heart and belly. It was around her neck and she was reaching for it and he let her have it and she put it back on her belly and chest it was pretty cute. She has been mimicking Daryl and me so much lately and for her to do it right then was so cute. Then while I was talking to Dr. Horst about Paiglee being lactose she decided to stand with one foot in a dump truck and hold on to the wall he stopped what he was saying to point out what she was doing, that is the norm for her and usually I would let her do it until she fell but I went over and made it so she couldn't stand in it anymore but of course Paiglee put the dump truck back the way it should be and stood in it again. Dr. Horst commented on it. I think it is funny, I didn't realize this until then but I would normally think she was just trying to be difficult but in that situation where I had someone from the outside looking in I saw what he might have saw that she was mimicking me and trying to figure out how it worked and that it might be a shoe. Silly I know to not realize this but when you are constantly telling a child no and them getting into everything at home you tend to forget that they are just exploring and mimicking you. I think I tend to forget this mostly with the messes she makes and the dangerous stuff she tends to do. Funny how those realizations come about.

Other than her appointment not too much has happened. Paiglee's recliner was broken so we returned it, they didn't have others so she will have to wait for another one for her B-day or something. Daryl went shooting with Adam Larsen and Chad Bade, he loved it he has been dying to shoot for a while and he has been bugging me about getting him a gun for his graduation. I am not too crazy about having a gun in the house but i know there are ways to keep them safe but it is just weird to think of a gun in the house, even if I grew up with them as a kid. I am on my Fourth day of training for a triathlon. I have to say swimming was hard the first day and today I am sure it will be just as hard since it is even longer. My body hasn't stopped being sore from it all, but it isn't as bad as when I ran track where you would be sore for the entire first 2-3 weeks no joke, even if you ran during the summer like you were suppose to. But it feels good to work my body that hard again. Plus I am trying to maintain my current lifting and that is adding to the difficulty of it all. My body just feels really fatigued and worked. I just hope it pays off.
