Thanksgiving

I know it is almost time for Christmas and I am just getting around to posting about Thanksgiving. I suck , trust me I may quit blogging all together when this baby arrives I will have no time. Or I will just have to learn to not type as much and make my blog a picture blog.

We decided to go to my parents house for Thanksgiving this year. We have said that we are done traveling for holidays and we are for the most part. But umm I just didn't feel like making a whole dinner on my own while pregnant. Plus my brother and his wife and little girl were flying out, and I really wanted to see his little girl. So for the first time in several years my whole family was together for a holiday. We left after Daryl got off work on Wednesday and we had good roads until we hit Sinclair and the Elk Mountain area. But there were only a few really bad areas. We actually had the worse roads the closer we came to Laramie to where it was just a sheet of ice. I really wish the State of Wyoming would invest in some salt, really salt works wonders. But I guess we are the last frontier, so we must live up to that big title. We decided for all the hard work and stress of making the trip we would treat ourselves to the Rapido. It really is simply delicious. It was good seeing everyone and we all enjoyed ourselves. It was a lot of fun. I made the big turkey for Thanksgiving dinner, and to be honest it was simply freakin' good. I was worried others wouldn't like it but they did, or said they did. I kind of felt bad because my turkey was eaten up before my Grandma's little turkey she made. But I told them you don't put stuffing in your bird, it dries it out. And what happened the bird was dry and bland, in my opinion and that is why I volunteered to make the big turkey.

This year was my first time ever doing the crazy thing and interrupting my sleep for black Friday deals. My sisters and I planned on going to Wal-Mart at midnight to get some things. I know of all places for my first time it is Wal-Mart. But heck that is Laramie's shopping mall. I was there until like 2am. I was done and ready to sleep. I had a good time and all but it just isn't my cup of tea I probably won't ever do that again. Don't get me wrong I will do Black Friday shopping but not anything that interrupts my sleep again. I guess I just don't care that much for the deals.

Friday we also went shooting, my brother is a cop and brought his gun and my Dad has this .41 revolver that is a freakin' beast that everyone has been wanting to shoot. And Daryl brought his .45 and 22. I know it was suppose to be a boy thing, but I have been dying to shoot Daryl's gun since I bought it for him, you know almost three years ago. I will be honest I thought it would be so much fun to shoot his .45 and it was but it isn't that much fun. Daryl always told me that he thought I wouldn't enjoy it all that much, that I would like the 22 rifle better and I never believed him. I just thought how could I possibly think shooting a rinky dinky 22 as being more fun than his .45 Springfield. But Daryl was right the .45 was fun at first to shoot but it freaked me out. The thing has a kick to it and to be honest guns are freaky and big guns like what we had to shoot with, that can actually really do damage scared me to shoot and handle while loaded. I shot everyone's gun and really Daryl's 45 and my dad's 41 had the worst kicks and scared me. I was shaking I had so much adrenaline rushing through me, it gave me a huge adrenaline high. Let’s just say I walked away from those guns having a greater respect for them and all big or bigger guns for that matter. So my favorite was the 22 , Daryl has a banana clip for it so you can pop of a bunch of rounds. Plus he also bought a scope for it and that made it really fun for me. I had a lot of fun with it.

Saturday we left in the early afternoon to get back home. We had good roads home and I am glad we left when we did because the next day there was a big snow storm coming in. We talked on the way home about how much fun we had and how much we had enjoyed seeing everyone. Paiglee had fun and really enjoyed having cousins to play with. I actually count ourselves lucky we were the only family that didn’t get sick (knock on wood). People were sick while we were there but I guess after we left it spread like wild fire.

And I am sorry this is the only picture I took from the trip because I forgot to unload all the pictures from my SD card to a disc and Daryl didn't want to buy a new SD card. So enjoy my only picture. It is of Dustin shooting his gun and Daryl's 45 at the same time.
