We had a good New Years Eve party gathering whatever at our friends the Gard's place we got together with a few of our other friends and ate really good food and played a game and just talked. It was fun; we left pretty early compared to some others because I had plans in the morning to leave to shop. Plus Paiglee was hitting a wall and it was time for bed.
I celebrated New Years Day by going to Utah. My friend Sam had mentioned a while ago about IKEA being a great place and said that she would have to take me. Well she set up a time and she got a bunch of us girls to go. Beth was so kind to offer the service of her truck so she drove and all four of us hit the road (Beth, Fara, Sam, and myself, Jen was suppose to come but she got sick during the night, big bummer). It was an all day trip of shopping. We seriously were in IKEA for like 2 or more hours cause well it was Fara's and my first time ever there. Plus the place is huge. The prices are great. But at the end there I was seriously starting to wonder when it would end.
Then we were off to get food and shop more. I went to Kohl's which is still my favorite store, but it just let me down that day I don't know if it was the town's kohl's or what but I couldn't find a darn thing. I was beginning to think I was going to have one of those horrible shopping days where you just feel depressed after shopping. But luckily Beth came to the rescue and took me into Lane Bryant's. The whole purpose for my shopping was to get pants. But Lane Bryant is a store for bigger girls and when we walked in Beth asked what sizes they carried. At first the lady thought I wouldn't be able to find anything there because I was too small. But I tried on their smallest size I believe and it looked like I was probably going to find something. Well I did I found very cute trousers thanks to Beth and then just a regular pair of pants. I swear it was amazing; I usually shop at the buckle because that is the only place I could find pants to fit my shape before I had a baby. But now that I have had a baby my luck was not so great. But Lane Bryant actually makes their pants to fit the human body and not only that a woman’s body. I loved it! Not only that but I didn't ever know pants could be so comfortable and look so good on. I was in utter shock. The trouser pants I seriously could have slept in. I will probably never shop at another store for pants as long as I fit into Lane Bryant pants which kind of stinks since I am the smallest size they have, and I plan on losing weight. But now I know. I still can't get over the fact how well the pants fit and actually do my body justice rather than make me look like I shouldn't be wearing the pants to begin with. So if you are a more curvy woman and want great pants go to Lane Bryant oh and did I mention how cheap they are $44.50 for one pair the buckle well it is double that.
So my shopping trip was successful and well worth it. We had a ton of fun, laughed a ton, and we were all dead tired at the end, but we all walked away with great deals.
Other than that we have been getting back into out routine around here. Right around New Years I began to read the Twilight book New Moon. I am going to be starting the 3rd book probably tomorrow or Tuesday. I also have started a new project that is much easier than the Quiet book. My friend Sam taught Beth and me how to make Rag Quilts and while we were in Utah we picked up some material to make some. Since Daryl was out of town this weekend for Gymnastics I had all the girls over to start the Quilts. I am pretty excited to see my finished product, and I will be sure to post it on here.
Daryl has also been trying to get back into the routine but he has a cold that has been pretty nasty. While he was gone this weekend he lost his voice completely and he has laryngitis. So the weekend for him has not been the greatest. He has never been this sick since we have been married and all it is is a sore throat and loss of voice and a runny nose. So life stinks for him right now.
Paiglee is loving life as usual. She is back on her normal routine and has no complaints. She has done some pretty funny things lately, she is a singer now. In the car she will sing to certain songs and it is too funny. She will even tell you to turn the song if she doesn’t like the one you chose. But if she catches me laughing at her while she sings she will stop and get mad. Which is even funnier? She is quit the boss these days, she has picked up the word Shut Up. This is mostly my fault. I tend to use the word a lot, and not to be mean but to either joke with Daryl or to say shut up if he is bothering me in a joking manner and I guess I use it if he bothers me just to bother me. But we both do tell each other to shut up and think nothing of it. But just recently Paiglee told both Daryl and me to shut up while we were singing to a song. She would say to either one of us if we were to sing "shut up, sssshhhh". Well I have tried to nix those two words from our vocabulary, because it sounded horrible coming out of her mouth and she meant it in a mean way. Plus the fact that she knows what the word is used for is the worst. I mean this isn't a onetime occurrence it is pretty much anytime we sing or say or talk when she doesn't want us to. She also used the word crap the other week. Now I am one of those people who do not believe the word crap is a bad word nor will I ban it from my home, but I will ban it from my child’s vocabulary until she is older, so temporarily the word will not be used around small children. The whole reason for this was when we were putting Paiglee to bed I forgot something in the Laundry room and said "oh crap" and without skipping a beat Paiglee said "oh crap" clear as day. It just sounded much different coming out of Paiglee’s mouth than it ever does coming out of an adult’s mouth or even a teenager’s mouth. So we are working on our language at our house. Good thing I nixed Daryl right away with the usage of the words ass and damn so early. He use to use those words a ton. But when we had Paiglee I told him it would have to stop, and good thing it stopped then because it means two less words we don't have to try and quit using.
Oh and also my parents stopped by on their way back from Vegas over the break and they brought Paiglee a Christmas gift. It was a stroller, she loved it and pushed the thing a around forever and she even tried sleeping with it. The night she got it we went into check on her and found her in her bed with the stroller. But it was a great gift and she really enjoys it.
I thought I would add this picture which I took the other day Paiglee was at the table coloring with markers which I never let her do, and she did fine. The only problem was when she decided to color her nose. I laughed when I saw and she got all sad cause she didn't know why I was laughing at her. I showed her in the mirror and she was so embarrassed, but then I cleaned it off and she was fine. I just thought it was cute that she was so shy about it when I showed her what she had done. She didn't realize in this picture that it was on her nose.
So that are the happenings at the Michael house, and I am sure I am forgetting things but hopefully I will be better at blogging. But who knows since I will be starting the Twilight book Eclipse. I usually use my spare time to read when I have one of those books rather than blog.

Yeah, those are the bows that you made. I was wondering if you would make me some more. The girls fight over them like crazy, plus I love them. They are nice and big for Tegan, and I think they look great. Let me know I can even pay for the ribbon or something.
We got a Kohls a few months ago, and I am not kidding I hate shopping there. You have gotten some cute stuff there so I thought I would try it. First of all they don't carry dresses they carry "matching sets" (skirts, and shirts to match), and I can never find anything that I want to wear there. I don't know if they are all the same, but I was a little disapointed, who doesn't carry dresses?
I'm so glad you are still Twilighting! The next movie comes out in March! Maybe I can come down and me and Maggs and you can catch it! (And whoever else wants to come!) Sounds like a fun break! Good to know about the pants too! I would never think to go in there!
Sounds like lots of fun! I like the last picture of Paiglee. She looks cute - marker and all. Had fun in Utah and so glad you got the pants of your dreams! :) Can't wait to see the finished quilt!!!!
I need to see these pants. I've heard a lot about them. Please please please next time we plan a trip can you make sure its not the day my family plans to puke? ha ha :) missed you guys that day! A LOT!
So many fun things packed into one post. Good times. Have to do it again and this time hopefully everywhere we want to go will be open.
How could you forget the most exciting part of New Year's Day. You dashing or should I say sprinting to save our parking spot. You probably forgot due to your pants purchase. I crack up evertime I think about it.
