Me a Millionaire?

Tonight I finished reading the Book The Automatic Millionaire by David Bach. Daryl and I were given this book as a wedding gift when we were married from some great friends. Daryl read about half of it and ended there, and I never once touched it until two weeks ago. I had seen this author on many shows Oprah, Good morning America etc. but for some reason when I saw him on Regis and Kelly I finally put it together that I have owned his book this whole time. I started reading it during Paiglee's nap and could hardly wait for her to go to bed that night to continue. I was very excited and I talked Daryl's ear off and would re-read things to him.

I can't believe even though I heard him talk on shows and knew some of his plan, it just clicked this time for some reason. The even more ironic part is that the things he talks about are what we have been told by Prophets to do like stay out of debt and save money (he calls it his rainy day account for emergencies to pretty much have a minimum of 3 months worth of spending and even better 24 months) and pay tithing oh yes this book mentions it as a way to give back because to get rich to be rich is nothing unless you give back. I knew a lot of the stuff he mentioned. But as some may know this my family is about it embark upon many new expenses and I guess you could say the real world of money. I am sure those of you who have gone through this know it is everything from scary, overwhelming and exciting. This book just opened the door even wider for me, as to how to manage our future income so that we can make our money work for us rather than we work for our money.

The book talks about credit card debt, buying a house, retirement, savings (rainy day account), tithing, and so much more. Although I already knew the great benefit of staying out of debt, which other than our outstanding student loans we are consumer debt free. It helped me get excited about money and want to do even better with spending and to make sure we have a future. I strongly recommend this book to others it is well worth it. Oh and if you already own a home it just might help you pay your home off faster. I intend to apply this to my life, it is too simple not to. Oh the book is intended to be a fast read, I just so happen to have many interruptions and so it took me almost 2 weeks. If you have 2-3 hours it should be read by then. I hope this is of great use to someone.

Hey, I do know who you are. Your little girl is SOOOOO cute. Thank you for your comment. I viewed my pictures as a slide show and rotated them that way. It was easy and now I know how to do it, so thanks. I fixed one of my old posts and all the pics on the side of my blog.

I'll have to check out that book. Trevor and I have been talking about those topics a lot lately. I'm getting sick of no water too. Last summer I asked one of the workers about the problems and he said that the pipes under 17th are pretty much totally corroded. It really stinks!
