Thanksgiving Break Madness

Well we are home and I must say it is so nice to be back. We had a great time with Daryl's family and Paiglee was great so no complaints. Daryl and I were both sad to go because when ever we go to see Daryl's parents we know they are going to treat us very well. The car trip there was good, we ended up staying in Lincoln to break it up for Paiglee and it was a good thing because she had about had it by the end. We ended up taking her to the pool in the hotel, and she was screaming with excitement. The next morning we woke up and arrived in Moline about 1pm or something like that. We had a little snow flurry almost the whole time but it wasn't bad. It was so cold in Moline, because the hair is humid then you had cold and it just feels frozen.

Daryl's parents house was full of people because not only were we staying there but Daryl's brother Robert and his family stayed there too. It was a full house but it was great to see everyone and Paiglee had a lot of people and things to entertain her which makes our job easier. Thanksgiving was great the food was good and I made the pumpkin pie and I hate to brag well no I don't but the pie was SOOOO GOOD! Daryl's sister came over that day with the twins which we were so excited to see because they are about 7 months older than Paiglee and we just couldn't wait to see how she interacted with them. Of course she was shy and played by herself but by the last day she warmed up finally. The rest of our trip was full of relaxing and doing whatever we felt like.

On Friday of course I went to Kohl's my favorite store and I got Paiglee some clothes because taking this trip made me realize how little she actually had. So I spent like two hours or more shopping for her and just browsing which was fun because I didn't have Daryl telling me to hurry and to just grab something. Then we went to Uncle Pete's and we got a Gyro's, sooo good. Then we just sat around and did nothing much. That evening though Daryl wanted to go to Whitey's and get a shake, it is a really good ice-cream shop in the Mid-west.

Saturday we went to visit some of Daryl's friends and that was fun we ate and talked and played Apples to Apples. Scott and Scarlet have a little girl about 2 months older than Paiglee and she is a ball of energy it was pretty funny to watch the two of them interact. There was one point where I had to take off Paiglee's shirt because she got it messy and I guess Presley likes her shirt off too but she wouldn't leave Paiglee's chest alone. It was so funny Paiglee was a little freaked out about it then Presley kept trying to tickle Paiglee and that was too much for Paiglee, she cried but even taking Presley's shirt off didn't keep her from wanting to mess with Paiglee's naked chest. They were fun to watch it was very entertaining. Then after that we got Whitey's because it was my night to get ice-cream I didn't want it two nights since I had to watch what I was eating so I only gave myself a treat once a day.

Sunday was crazy Paiglee of course was having a bad day and she was tired and church was spent out in the hall for Daryl and then she was just fussy and then she ended up getting her finger shut in a door and she wasn't going to calm down so Daryl took Wayne Paiglee and me back to the house and he went back. When they all got home it was a laid back day then we went to Brenda's house for dinner. That was fun we ended up down in her basement and she has a lot of games. I played fooz ( spelling) ball almost the whole time. Paiglee enjoyed herself playing. It is too bad that the twins and Paiglee finally warmed up on that day cause they were very amusing to watch. We ended up leaving early because we had to pack and get ready for the trip back the next day.

The trip home was great, considering we did the 13 hour trip in one day. Paiglee was great and we had great weather. The trip was a lot of fun and we miss Daryl's family a lot. We always enjoy going back to see them. It is always hard since there is so much distance between us but we will hopefully see them again in May for Daryl's graduation. YAY!

It is cold here in Laramie and it is going to snow I am excited for that. Today we are going to decorate the tree which I have been dieing to do ever since we left. Today is just a busy day. We have a lot to do since we have no groceries and even though we cleaned before we left the unpacking process always tends to make the house messy again.
