She has turned into a picky eater as well, I have come to conclude it must be something Daryl and I are doing. Why else would we have two picky eaters. The only problem is I don't know what we are doing to make them picky. There are some good things she eats well. And she loves junk food we can't even show her chips or let her know we have them until after she has eaten her sandwich. She has a horrible habit of eating something seeing something else she would rather have and evacuating what ever is in her mouth to have it. She loves babies and dogs she is usually carrying one of those things around. She still sucks her thumb her left thumb. I am so fine with it even if I can tell it is moving her teeth. I don't see a problem with it, she uses it to soothe, comfort and for sleeping.
She doesn't talk a ton it is mostly still gibberish but when she does this is what she says; No, tay ku (thank you), peez (please), Mom and Dad in different variations, baby, doggie, yummy, Abbi ( Paiglee's friend from across the street), Hi, bye, num (gum), preeie (pretty), eye, no (nose), she did say grandpa very slurred one time talking to my dad but never sense, go (usually in a yell), uh oh, oooo (the way she shapes her lips is too cute when she says this), she says ollo (hello) she doesn't say it as much now, she sometimes says hello right. I can't think of any more but she also signs the same things thank you, more, please, and eat. That is her main communication, I don't have earlier talkers, and I am fine with that. For not being much of a talker she is able to let us know what she wants. But she does talk jibber a ton and to us as if we understand.
She has just as of lately actually taken a real liking for books. She use to never let me read to her, but one day she brought me one of her books and she let me read it to her. Of course she had to turn the pages. But she now does this more often, I let her initiate it because usually when I do she doesn't want to sit still. She likes to play on the piano although I don't like it. She likes to do things her way and on her own. She loves to slide and swing and loves to be outside. Emery loves to follow Paiglee around and bug her. Most times they play really well together.
Emery knows she is cute and works it to her advantage. When she does something she probably shouldn't and is caught she will raise her shoulders to her ears and tilt her head and give a shy look while smiling. Then gives dirty looks when someone bugs her or she is mad or sometimes she plays that way with D and me. She furrows her brow puts her chin to chest then looks up through her brow line with a frowny mean look, so funny.
A few weeks ago she was really sick the doctor thought she might have had Whooping Cough but I am not sure she would have had it longer if she did. But she needed a nebulizer for breathing and we had this little elephant face mask with it. Well she wouldn't wear it so she played with it and hung it on our Christmas tree. It is there now, she keeps taking it off and moving it to a different part of the tree.
She loves to go to her baby sitters house which for me is good but also sad at the same time. But mostly I think she just loves to feel like she is going somewhere too since Paiglee goes to school. Emery loves her baths and loves to take showers with Paiglee. She still takes a 2-3 hour nap each day. She loves to brush her teeth and sometimes won't let me help her. Good thing she has healthy teeth genes. She doesn't just give out kisses or hugs on demand. But when she gives them they are great and you can feel the love emanating from her little body. She is a cuddle bug and loves to sit with me or Daryl in our recliner and watch TV. She is entering the hitting phase and she tends to hit Paiglee more than anyone else. But we are on top of her with that. I have only put her in timeout once I can't remember why but she probably really needed it. She loves bananas and most berries. She has learned to love The Wiggles and is quickly becoming obsessed with them as her sister once was. God thing we have so much wiggle stuff for her. She loves her blankies and has two that we alternate between so one can get clean while the other is in use. She is more of a daddy's girl right now and I fight for her to stay mine but dads are just cooler than moms.
She gets into everything and knows she shouldn't but does anyways. There are times I was into the living room to see a mess on the floor of something I turn around to see her smiling and giggling to only turn around as fast as her little body will take her to run away from me. Seriously she is a stinker. She makes it hard to be stern with her. When I do try to get stern and discipline she will start laughing. I am getting better at not laughing at her. Daryl and I both know we are in trouble with her. She climbs on everything mainly our chairs at the counter and she gets into things that way. Plus she has had them fall on her several times because of the way she climbs on them. If you come to our house our counter chairs are either on the counter or on the table. I don't know why it is counter chairs and not really the table chairs.
She loves lip gloss, chap stick, lip stick pretty much any thing you put on your lips. She likes to watch me put on my make-up and I usually put a little gloss on her then. She likes to dress up and wear little princess heels. She loves jewelry, and loves messing with my earrings that I wear for work or church or just to look nice. I love that she loves them! She loves girly clothes with more frill and fluff. She doesn't always like to share mine or Daryl's attention with Paiglee she can be possessive over us. She is really out going and likes to try things within her comfort zone. She adjusts pretty well to situations as long as Daryl and I are there. She doesn't like new people coming into our home or her space. But when she warms up she really warms up. She likes to dance and loves music.
There are so many fun things about the age she is right now. We do have really bad bouts of tantrums but right now we don't and I am really enjoying her. Oh how I wish they could stay this way! I enjoy her so much and she does have difficult times but her great times make up for it. I love that she is girly and I love that her sister is tom boyish I relate to both. I was tom boyish as a young girl but I had a very girly side. Still do and I love that I am able to feed from both of those parts to relate to my girls. We all really just love Emery to pieces. What I love also is when Paiglee says to Emery you are such a cutie. Emery also lets Paiglee hold her still to this day. She knows everyone will baby her. She is till on the smaller side of her age.
