Emery hit her two month a week and five days ago. She is our favorite little baby. Really she is so much fun for all of us. But probably more me than others, since I deal with her a majority of the time. She is getting big and doing things a lot earlier than Paiglee, I guess that is normal for consecutive kids.
Stats:
height: 21.5 inch long (around 20%)
weight: 11 pounds and 1/2 ounce (about the 60%)
Head: 15.25 in. (50%)
So it looks like I have a short chubby baby. Paiglee was always around the 50th percentile except for one time for her head when it shot up to the 75% or something like that when she was in the 40% before. Funny thing at two months Emery is as long as some babies are when they are born. And although her weight is about average I think her being a little short makes her more chunky, I like me a chubby baby.
What she is doing:
-she smiles a lot and giggled for the first time on the 18th of March at me, super fun
-She almost giggles after I put a rattle in her mouth and make funny noises I can tell she is trying to giggle but can't get it to come out.
-she can lift her head up from laying on her belly like she should be
-she naws on her little fists a lot either from gas (most likely) or teething (please no)
-she is a stinky gasy baby, I don't remember Paiglee smelling
-she is sleeping 5-7 hour stretches at night, this was better right before she got her shots that rocked her world we are back to the norm just about though.
-she has a good inch of growth to her hair and it is a golden reddish (not my favorite, red) blonde, I hope she bleaches out this summer like Paiglee did
-she is focusing on objects I show her and she likes anything that rattles
-She will follow me as I walk around a room with her eyes
-she gets excited when she sees Paiglee, Emery is as fond of her as Paiglee is of her
-She has really long eyelashes
-she doesn't like to have her nose cleaned out, and it usually has to be cleaned out once a day
-She is liking her baths more
-she likes me to hold her in our bed to sleep at night, I only do this when I am super tired and nothing else works to get her to sleep or is super fussy, I like the feeling that I can comfort her, and usually the only one that can easily. It is so gratifying to be able to soothe your child.
-She is not a big fan of the car seat when it isn't in motion, whether it is being carried or moving in the car if it is at a standstill for too long she will fuss whether tired or not, it just has to keep moving.
-Today when Emery and I were just hanging out in my bed before actually getting up she was all smiles and cooing up a storm. I then went to tickle her under her chin and she laughed I mean right out laughed it was a great sound, one she has been trying to make for some time now. It was absolutely adorable. It was one of those laughs where kids lose control and laugh real hard.
