I feel like I have so much to post about but really don't know where to begin. I completely spaced to post about Paiglee's Christmas party she had with her pre-school. She had to memorize a part for their little program they put on. I worked really hard with her to help her learn her part. And she knew it, very well by the time the party came around. But not to my surprise though she didn't recite it. She just kept her fingers in her mouth and wouldn't say a word. I was sad just because we put in so much work and I knew she knew it. But she wouldn't even sing the songs she just stood there fidgeting and putting her hands in her mouth and lifting her shirt. But once we left and we were at home she was reciting her part all on her own, it was great but if only she weren't so shy with people. But I did get her to say it for the video camera so at least I have it on there to remember it. It was a fun little party, they did a gift exchange and she loved the gift she received.

Refusing to speak or look at her teacher, she wasn't the only one though.
How many bell's can you fit in your mouth? She apparently tried to put them all in her mouth.Check out the look the boy next to her is giving her. LOL
She helped her dad and me decorate while she ate her the candy
She was given a make-up kit she really likes make-up so it was a great gift for her
Then on the 23rd we had a little gathering/party at our house with a few friends. I of course had help from my friend Fara to put it all together. Fara made sugar cookies for the kids to decorate, and I got together a little Christmas craft for the kids to do. I had them make little bear ornaments. It was fun and not too stressful since I had help. We enjoyed ourselves and ate a lot of food.
The cutest girls decorating their cookies
I tried to get a decent picture of the lights on our house, it didn't work so well
Christmas Eve in our house is a laid back day. We don't do much until later in the evening time. I made nachos (a tradition from my childhood), and I was a little lazy with it this year. I just didn't want to make all the extra sides, so I didn't. Then we drove around looked at Christmas lights, not that it is a thing we don't do any other night we just do it to burn time before bedtime. Then we came home and read the story of Jesus' birth out of the New Testament Stories. It is a really nifty book that has pictures and a short description of what is going on then the versus' where it can be found. It is perfect and simple for a 3 1/2 year old. She got the point, and at one point she asked where was Jesus in a picture and I said, he is in Mary's belly and I did the round motion in front of my belly and then she looked at my belly and said oh no more baby in momma's belly and then pats my belly and says "I sorry momma". It was so interesting that she had put it together like that, she is very intuitive and smart to say the least. But we finished talking about Jesus' birth and how the next day was the day we celebrate his birth and so we kept telling her it was Jesus' birthday tomorrow, She got it. Then she went to bed and then Daryl and I along with his brother watched a movie.
We did go to the mall because Paiglee wanted to ride this little train they had in there, This was her face when it took off.
And this is her face when it came back around, not very fun I guess
Christmas morning was great it was relaxed not too early. Paiglee went through her stocking and played with the gift's Santa left for her. The I made cinnamon rolls, then we watched Luke 2, (and we normally put a not to Jesus in a stocking but I spaced it) and then opened gifts. Paiglee got pretty much all of her needs and wants this year. She received some great gifts from her grandparents and aunt's and uncle's. Daryl and I kept Christmas simple for ourselves because we wanted a Wii and that was enough of a gift for us. Though Daryl did get a watch he wanted aside from the one he got for his birthday (I think he has a fetish). I received a cute hat and earrings and a ring for a necklace that has gone missing, so I am down a gift :(. But it will be okay maybe it will turn up somewhere. Daryl did receive a really nice Carhart sweater from My sister and her family and we were given a GPS from Daryl's parents for our car since we get lost in Utah. Then my mom bought me a kitchen Aid I love it. It was fun opening fifts and seeing the surprise on Paiglee's face when she got things she had specifically asked for, it felt real nice to give her those things, in all I think it was a great Christmas for us.

With her loot, she also got clothes but I decided to not put them with her, she wasn't as excited for clothes
The rest of the day we played with our new toys and gifts, I had more fun playing with Paiglee's (the poor girl was lacking in the toy department). I baked up dinner throughout the day. Then Christmas evening we had some friends over to join us for Christmas dinner. It was a great dinner and we all made ourselves sick. It was a great way to spend the rest of our Christmas hanging out with friends and family.
One funny thing that happened Christmas night, we were setting out the pies that Fara had made and Paiglee said Birthday cake, because it was Jesus' Birthday and then she wanted us to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus, she insisted so Fara and I begin to sing while everyone else (adults and children) stare at us, I do not hope to make that an every year thing, singing is not my thing.
I also tried to get a decent picture of our tree this year but I think my camera just sucks, I think next year I need a new one.
I woke up this morning sad to realize Christmas is gone and past. I miss this time of year, and just the feeling in the air. I was especially sad because Daryl already had the Christmas tree down and put away. The only remnants we have are our gifts, some decorations, and all the food to remind us Christmas was here.
It was a very memorable Christmas for our family, we are so grateful for all our many blessings, we are truly grateful for our health and our well being. We have had a very eventful 2009 and look forward to 2010 in hopes of less eventfulness. We are blessed to have great families and friends, and most of all one another.
